Carrocerias el Sol & PLUSS

Carrocerías El Sol manufactures ambulances, medical units, and rescue equipment for export across Latin America. Indian innovator PLUSS offers an innovative solution for heating/cooling applications using phase change materials (PCM) technology, which provides greater energy efficiency and eliminates the dependency on fossil fuels. Together, they are piloting the PLUSS solution for passive cooling for refrigeration in two settings: Carrocerias El Sol’s offices (built with containers and located in a remote area) and for last-mile delivery in small refrigerated trucks, with the aim of reducing electricity and fuel usage, greenhouse gas emissions, and operation and maintenance costs, with payback times from nine months to two years.
