ThermoTerra
ThermoTerra is a start‑up company developing innovative heating and cooling technology based on a novel renewable energy source. The core technology is based on an idea that received a grant from the Israeli Ministry of National Infrastructures.
Founded in 2015, the company holds a patent application approved under the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT), as well as two additional provisional patent applications.
Solutions
Humidity Power
The technology is installed directly onto building façades as a system called the SmartWall.
At night, when humidity levels rise, fans draw air through specially treated absorbing materials inside the SmartWall. This absorption process releases energy, generating heat and reducing the energy required for building heating systems.
During the day, when humidity levels are lower, dry air is passed through the SmartWall. This causes the stored water to evaporate, creating a cooling effect and reducing the energy required for air‑conditioning.
