Heat Inverse

Innovator

Heat Inverse is the maker of CoolFilm, the innovative cooling solution designed for a range of industrial applications.

The company participated in a number of TechEmerge pilots which are described below. More data on the pilot experience is available from the report "TechEmerge Sustainable Cooling Innovation Program: Results and Lessons Learned"

Solutions

Passive Cooling Thin-films
Heat Inverse produces thin‑film materials that deliver passive cooling with zero electricity use, no moving parts, and no waste heat. By reducing heat load on existing cooling systems, the films cut fuel/electricity consumption, extend equipment life, and reduce maintenance and replacement costs.

Applied to the roofs of refrigerated trailers, the thin films provide 5 kW of passive cooling, translating into approximately $2,600 per year in fuel savings per trailer, in addition to reduced maintenance due to lower compressor workload.

Applied to the top of a 40‑foot battery energy‑storage container, the films deliver 3.5 kW of passive cooling, lowering both capital and operational expenses, including maintenance and replacement costs by decreasing the load of one existing cooling system.
