AQUA+: A Graphene-Based Nanofluid for Cooling Systems
Graphene nanoplatelets (GNPs) are naturally hydrophobic and cannot be dispersed in polar solvents such as distilled water. To overcome this limitation, GNPs undergo an acid based functionalization process that introduces hydrophilic functional groups onto their surface.
The AQUENE® nanofluid is formulated by dispersing these functionalized nanoparticles in water without the use of surfactants. As a result, AQUENE® remains chemically stable over time, preserving the chemical composition, the nature, and the properties of its nanoparticle-stabilizer package.
