Terry E. Townsend, P.E. , is President of Townsend Engineering, a US-based engineering design firm with expertise in HVAC systems, high and low temperature thermal systems, and energy conservation studies. Mr. Townsend is a former president of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers, ASHRAE (2006-2007), where he focused on highlighting their work on sustainability in the building environment. His achievements as president include launching ASHRAE’s first ever certification program, accelerating and expanding the Advanced Energy Design Guide series, setting more stringent savings for ASHRAE’s energy standard, and providing resources on how ASHRAE can minimize the impact of its meetings on the environment.
